All of the votes are in.  By a pretty wide margin, the proposal to increase the dues by $15 a month has passed.  Please look for this change to be implemented soon.  I appreciate all who voted as each and every vote counts.  It is important to everyone that we all have a voice to make our Union strong.

Hello Everyone,

The Stockton Ports are hosting a Firefighter Appreciation night.  It will be held on May 8th.  They have asked us to  be involved.  They are looking for a couple of things.  They would like to have someone from our Local throw out the First Pitch, they would like to allow us to have any equipment there that we would like, and I think they would also offer us a place for a booth if we wanted one to promote our Local, Departments, etc..

I think this can be a great time for us to get our families togather and have fun in a relaxed setting.  Something this Local has not been able to do for quite some time.  They are asking us to reserve 75 tickets at $5.00 a ticket.  I think this is a reasonable request.  It is my hope that we get a large group committed to this event. 

Please get ahold of me with any questions.  I am going to get the tickets if I get some good responses in the next couple of days.  I look forward to hearing from everyone!

Welcome Home to Brother Brandon Wright of Unit 13 MKE.  After a long deployment to Afganistan, he is back home safely.  I think I speak for all of the members of Local 1243 when I say we are very happy that you are back,  We cannot thank you enough for your incredible service to making our country and our lives safe.

We look forward to seeing you back in a "Fire" uniform.

After a brief website vacation (an error on my part) we are back on line.  Thnaks to Josh Houston for resolving this issue.

We are in the process of making some upgrades to the site to hopefully steer it in the direction for what it was intended.  We want this to be a user friendly resource to everyone.  With that said, we are looking at getting the dues paid on line ability off the ground, upload department photos, and getting the different work schedules and contracts made available in the members only section.

At our recent meeting we discussed the dues increase issue again.  We are going to send out ballots to have everyone vote.  The increase would be $10 a month.  When voting, please keep in mind that we have not increased dues for over 10 years and we have downsized our local.

We are also in the process of ordering some new logo items.  The first wave of items will be a non constructed ball cap, boonie hat, and collared shirts.  We are also looking for a new design for a t-shirt.  If you have any ideas that you would like to see on a t-shirt, please email them to me as soon as you can: agfire@comcast.net.  Pleas also forward any photos you would like to add to the site.
